Pleasant Hope Baptist Church is prayerfully searching for a new Pastor. We are a historically African

American church, whose congregation is multigenerational and emerging multiracial. We are located in the

northeast corridor of Baltimore City in Govans. We are looking for an innovative leader who shares a

commitment to be open and inclusive to bringing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We invite all

(Spirit-led) interested parties to apply.


The Pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach biblical revelation, to

establish the vision for the church, to engage in pastoral care ministries, and to manage/supervise other

administrative functions of the church.


  •  Seminary educated and trained

  •  Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, congregational leadership, including administration of  the ordinances of the Baptist Church (ie. Holy Communion, Baptism, etc.).

  •  Ordained Minister with Master of Divinity/ Master of Theology degree or higher.

  •  At least three years of progressive ministerial responsibilities (ie, funerals, weddings, etc.).

  •  Thorough familiarity with the mission of a missionary Baptist church.

  •  Evidence of working successfully with intergenerational groups.
