You can be a good Christian and need a good therapist too

Award-winning gospel artist, Vickie Winans, had a popular song back in the day which said, "long as I got King Jesus I don't need nobody else." It was a catchy tune, but biblically and theologically inaccurate. How could we sing about not needing anybody else, when scripture teaches that even Jesus needed somebody else. (if he didn't he would not have recruited disciples!)
The truth is that even the most spiritual among us needs help every now and then. Sometimes the help we need is related to our mental health.
Our church has been working for years to combat the stigma around mental health. We have held mental health & spirituality support groups, hosted presentations, and you'll regularly hear sermons which touch on the importance of mental health.
