Sanctuary Renovation 6-Month Progress Report

Updated: Jun 8, 2021

At the January 2020 Annual Church Meeting, our congregation approved a proposal to remove our pews and renovate our sanctuary. The coronavirus pandemic which accelerated in the United States in March 2020, brought much of our plans to a halt as we focused on providing needed support to our members and neighbors. By December, however, we were able to resume our planning. On Sunday, December 20, 2020, the Men's Ministry of Pleasant Hope removed the pews from the sanctuary and by early 2021, we replaced our flooring and obtained new cushioned chairs.

We are preparing to take steps to return to in-person worship on Sunday, June 13, 2021 - the Brown family's 13th Pastoral Anniversary.

The renovated sanctuary will allow for greater distancing, more creative seating arrangements, and expanded possibilities for events, ministry, trainings, and youth activities.

We thank those members of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church that have been faithful with their financial giving and wish to publicly appreciate the Renovation Committee for their tireless service on this effort.
