The Ministry Of Food As Medicine
"...I pray that all goes well for you. I hope that you are as strong in body, as I know you are in spirit." 3 John 1:2
In addition to all of the other wise counsel that we're receiving regarding ways to protect ourselves from the most severe effects of the coronavirus, I believe that now is a great time to be proactively boosting our immune systems as well by way of what we put in our bodies as best we can.
In my family, we've begun a regiment of drinking Mama Bears Elderberries syrup, taking spoonfuls of freshly minced garlic (grown by my comrades at Bucknell University Farm!) mixed with honey & cinnamon, drinking plenty of water and guzzling Uncle Matt's Organic ultimate defense orange juice filled with 1 billion probiotics.
(I also grew my own elderberries this year at my home garden. I harvested and put them in my deep freezer in August. I'm preparing to process them and make my own syrup.)
Pleasant Hope member, Shani, recently shared a tip about using Oil Of Oregano. I just bought that and am looking forward to including it in my routine.
I also remember that sleep, rest, body movement and time outside is part of the equation of a holistic, proactive plan for health.
With all that is beyond my power in the midst of this pandemic, these are some of the things that I can control.
What are you doing or thinking about doing to boost your immune system?
